Boardman Excellence Foundation hosts first Reverse Raffle Dinner

The Boardman Schools Fund for Educational Excellence wants you to enjoy dinner, a basket raffle, silent auction and have the chance to walk away $2,000 richer with its first Reverse Raffle Dinner.

The doors will open at 6 p.m. on March 11 at the Holiday Inn on South Avenue in Boardman. There will be a series of dinner gift certificates and cash prizes given away during the course of the evening. The final ticket drawn at the end of the night will be worth $2,000.

The real winners are the students of the Boardman School District. Since 2009, the Boardman Schools Fund for Educational Excellence (a component fund of the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley) has awarded more than $40,000 in grant projects.

Just a few months ago, six teacher wish list projects were funded, including mini iPads for a kindergarten class and an indoor growing system called “Blooming Biome” for a middle school. “These are all projects that further the educational interests and talents of our students,” said Fund President Joyce Mistovich. For Reverse Raffle Dinner tickets, contact Jody Stepan at 330-726-3404 before March 1. Tickets are $50 per person.
