A woman police said threatened a man who was killed last week and was present when he died was arraigned Wednesday in municipal court on a complicity charge.

Magistrate Anthony Sertick set bond at $100,000 for Angel Bell, 20, of Choice Court, who is in the Mahoning County jail on a charge of complicity to commit aggravated murder.

A warrant was issued for Bell’s arrest Tuesday, and she was picked up Wednesday, according to jail records.

Already jailed in connection with the Feb. 17 shooting death of 20-year-old Jason Fonseca is Kimani Hodges, 20, of East Auburndale Avenue. Hodges is in the county jail on a $1 million bond. He is charged with aggravated murder.

Detective Sgt. Darryl Martin, one of the investigators on the case, said detectives believe Fonseca was feuding with Bell and Hodges over a car he sold to Bell. Martin said Bell wrecked the car, and Fonseca took the keys after it was wrecked.

The two were upset and went to Fonseca’s house at least once before he was shot and killed about 3 p.m. Feb. 17. Fonseca was shot in the middle of the street in front of witnesses as he was outside his Ayers Street home.

In court, Assistant Prosecutor Jeffrey Moliterno said Bell had threatened Fonseca, and she was with Hodges when Fonseca was killed. She also left with Hodges after Fonseca was shot six times, Moliterno said.

Bell has no prior criminal record.

The cases for both Hodges and Bell are expected to be presented to a grand jury, perhaps as soon as this week.

Fonseca’s death is the second homicide in the city in 2016. In 2015, Youngstown had 23 homicides.
