Mill Creek MetroParks ends employee dismissals
YOUNGSTOWN — Mill Creek MetroParks this week wrapped up notifications to employees whose positions were eliminated as part of an internal reorganization plan.
In addition to those positions previously reported, the plan included the elimination of a part-time housekeeper position. The employee affected by the change is Marie Ellsmore.
The plan, which park officials say is meant to save $13 million over 15 years to put toward a projected capital-improvement shortfall, also included elimination of the following positions: plant curator, two rangers, development assistant, gardener, operations director, outdoor education manager, horticulture director, forestry supervisor, construction crew supervisor, custodian and shop supervisor.
