Man found in house on Traficant farm
GREEN
A Steubenville man caught Wednesday morning inside a house on the property of the late U.S. Rep. James A. Traficant Jr. is in the Mahoning County jail.
Court records do not show if any formal charges have been filed against Michael Metaxas, 59, who was found inside a house on Traficant’s farm about 1:35 a.m. by Goshen Township police district officers.
Officers were called to the farm on West South Range Road for an alarm. When they arrived, they found a bag on the porch and an open window. The officers went inside to check after a person with a key arrived and found Metaxas inside, reports said.
Reports said Metaxas told officers he was married to a Traficant family member, and someone on the police department drove him to the home. The person with the key said they had never seen Metaxas before and wanted to press charges. An alarm box was ripped off the wall and several items were moved in the room where Metaxas was found, reports said.
Teen mom in court
WARREN
Judge W. Wyatt McKay of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court on Wednesday approved the possibility that the mother of the two babies revived with naloxone Feb. 2 at ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital will get to visit her children.
Carlissa V. Davis, 18, of Stewart Circle Northwest and Randolph Street Northwest, appeared in court for her first pretrial hearing on two counts of child endangering.
Her attorney asked that a no-contact order be lifted, and Judge McKay agreed, over the objection of the prosecutor’s office.
Davis was indicted after she took her children, age 21 months and 9 months, to the hospital unresponsive, and doctors used the opiate-reversal drug naloxone on them, which helped both children recover.
Police said they believe both children ate a narcotic while at home with their mother. Their grandmother, Lisa Davis, 43, of Randolph Street Northwest, is charged with permitting drug abuse in the matter.
