Angel Bell jailed in Ayers Street murder

YOUNGSTOWN

A woman police said threatened a man who was murdered last week and was present when he was killed was arraigned Wednesday in municipal court on a complicity charge.

Magistrate Anthony Sertick set bond at $100,000 for Angel Bell, 20, of Choice Court, who is in the Mahoning County jail on a charge of complicity to commit aggravated murder.

A warrant was issued for Bell’s arrest Tuesday and she was picked up Wednesday, according to jail records.

Already jailed in the Feb. 17 shooting death of 20-year-old Jason Fonseca is Kimani Hodges, 20, of East Auburndale Avenue. Hodges is in the county jail on a $1 million bond. He is charged with aggravated murder.

Detective Sgt. Darryl Martin, one of the investigators on the case, said detectives believe Fonseca was feuding with Bell and Hodges over a car he sold to Bell. Martin said Bell wrecked the car and Fonseca took the keys after it was wrecked.

The two were upset and went to Fonseca’s house at least once before he was shot and killed about 3 p.m. Feb. 17 in the middle of the street in front of witnesses as he was outside his Ayers Street home.
