Woman shot in Brookfield home remains in critical condition

BROOKFIELD

Police say the woman who was shot multiple times Monday morning at her Ulp Street home remains in critical condition at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital following surgery.

The man accused of shooting her, Marvin Jules, 33, her live-in boyfriend, was arraigned this morning in Eastern District Court here, with Judge Robert Platt entering a not guilty plea for him to felonious assault.

The judge refused to allow him to make bond pending his next hearing Thursday.

Neighbors identified the victim as Lynda Campbell, 54.

Police recovered the weapon Monday afternoon that Jules said he threw in a field after shooting her. They got help from the Trumbull County Metal Detecting Club.
