Diane Sauer speaks at YSU Beta Gamma Sigma Induction
YOUNGSTOWN
The Youngstown State University Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma, created in the Williamson College of Business Administration, will host induction ceremonies on Sunday at the YSU campus. Beta Gamma Sigma is the world’s premier business honorary reserved exclusively for schools accredited by AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
Diane Sauer, President of Diane Sauer Chevrolet, Inc., will be the keynote speaker. This ceremony marks the 17th induction class at Youngstown State University. The chapter will induct 43 new members bringing the total inducted by the chapter to 689.
Becoming a Beta Gamma Sigma member is an honor indicative of commitment, high academic achievement, and leadership. To be eligible for membership, students must be registered in business administration programs and be candidates for the baccalaureate or MBA degree. Students ranking in the top 10 percent of the sophomore, junior, or senior classes or the top 20 percent of the master's program at are eligible for this membership.
Dean Betty Jo Licata, a strong supporter of the Beta Gamma Sigma chapter since its initial installation on June 11, 2000, has also played a significant role in the direction of the international organization. For years a member of the board of governors, Dean Licata assumed the role of Chairman of this board in June, 2014.
The Youngstown State University chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma has been recognized as Highest Honors Chapter for its superior level of membership acceptance. With this recognition, the Youngstown State University BGS chapter was able to awarded scholarships to send members to the Global Leadership Summit in Orlando, FL last October. The student officers of the chapter are President Jon Hutnyan (Canfield), Vice President of Programming Bryan Schiraldi (Lowellville), Vice President of Membership/PR Kayla Cerimele (Canfield), and Vice President of Alumni Relations Leah Finnerty (Poland). Dr. William G. Vendemia serves as the chapter advisor. Dr. William Vendemia of Youngstown is the chapter advisor.
Beta Gamma Sigma was founded as a national organization on February 19, 1913. The Society continues to serve 21st century business schools accredited by AACSB International. Its membership, now comprising of more than 750,000 men and women, includes the best and brightest of the world's business leaders.
