Boardman police seize gun and drugs from man at hotel

Township police seized a gun and drugs from a hotel room and arrested a North Lima man on a drug possession charge.

Teque Grant, 37, of Springfield Road, is charged for the incident that brought police to a Tiffany South hotel at 7 a.m. Monday. There, hotel management reported that Grant exposed a gun in his waistband during an argument, according to a police report. 

Police reportedly found unprescribed pills in Grant's room, leading to a felony-five drug possession charge.

He was not charged with a weapons offense, as police verified he had a permit, but the permit and gun were taken for safekeeping, according to the report.
