The University of Toledo food pantry for students has been relocated to the Student Union, a spot near a commuter lounge that is intended to be more accessible.
The Blade in Toledo reports the pantry reopened this month as part of a growing trend to help hungry students.
The pantry opened in 2014 in a converted basement provided by the nonprofit Toledo Campus Ministry off campus. The site was used by about 160 students from October 2014 through the end of the last year.
Virginia Speight, associate vice president of student affairs and director of residence life, says the new site is more accessible and visible to students.
The food pantry is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday to those with a student ID.
