Miss McDermott, James McCurdy to wed July 30

The parents of Meghan McDermott and James McCurdy, both of Columbus, are announcing their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Cheryl McDermott of Canfield and William McDermott of Boardman. Karen McCurdy and John and Melissa McCurdy, all of Upper Arlington, Ohio, are parents of the prospective groom.

St. Christine Church in Youngstown will be the setting of a 2 p.m. July 30 wedding. A reception will follow at The Lake Club in Poland. Invitations will be extended for the events.

Miss McDermott earned a bachelor’s degree in human ecology from Ohio State University and a master’s degree in teaching from Otterbein University. She is a sixth-grade math teacher at Pickerington Local School District.

Mr. McCurdy received a bachelor’s degree in sports management from Ohio Dominican University. He is a quality assurance specialist at Kimball Midwest Industries in Columbus.
