Letscher, Harris, BHS boys state-bound

Canfield’s Andrew Letscher secured his return to the Division I boys state bowling tournament on Sunday and he’ll have company in Columbus in the form of the team from Boardman.
Letscher qualified as an individual by virtue of his third-place finish in the district tournament at Roseland Lanes.
The Cardinals’ senior will be making his fourth consecutive trip to the state tournament.
Letscher rolled a 652 series with games of 201, 241 and 210.
Boardman’s boys finished fifth to punch a ticket to Columbus. Bobby Morrell led the Spartans with a 606 series, including games of 161, 221 and 224.
Boardman’s other bowlers include Nathan Needham (558 series), Brian Stanchin (491), Chase Felger (341), Sean Sullivan (326) and Michael Parise (325).
Boardman (3,761 pins)finished behind team district champion Nordonia (4,091), Massillon Jackson (3,885), Stow-Munroe Falls (3,830) and Green (3,788).
Austintown Fitch’s Alysha Harris will join Letscher and the Boardman boys team in Columbus.
Harris rolled a 537 series to qualify third among individual girls. S
he produced games of 204, 174 and 159 to finish eighth overall.
Warren Harding’s girls team finished eighth with a total pinfall of 2,283.
Qualifying girls teams included Mentor , North Olmsted, Twinsburg, Massillon Jackson and Stow-Munroe Falls.
