Vice squad recovers gun, cash at three separate homes

YOUNGSTOWN
Vice-squad officers serving search warrants Thursday investigating drug activity at three homes found a gun, cash and small amounts of drugs.
About 7:10 p.m. at 147 E. Marion Ave., officers found a loaded .45-caliber semiautomatic handgun as well as a box of assorted ammunition and a bulletproof vest.
Arrested on a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm was Jordan Kennedy, 24, who lists the home as his address. Visiting Judge Barbara Watson set his bond at $20,000 during his arraignment Friday in municipal court.
About 6:10 p.m. at 833 Mercer St., officers found two bags of suspected marijuana, four Suboxone strips, a bag of suspected crack cocaine, $371 cash and four digital scales. Arrested there on charges of possession of crack cocaine, possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia as well as traffic warrants was Antoine Tate, 24. His bond was set at $5,000 by Judge Watson.
At 5:10 p.m., police found a bag of suspected heroin, a bag of suspected marijuana and $2,407 cash on William Sullivan, 26, at 368 W. Evergreen Ave. He was arraigned in municipal court on charges of possession of heroin and possession of drugs. Judge Watson set his bond at $5,000.
Sullivan’s arrest gives police 31 arrests for heroin so far this year, according to Vindicator files. At this time last year, according to police records, there were nine arrests where heroin was logged into evidence.
