YOUNGSTOWN

The Mahoning and Columbiana Training Association will move to 20 W. Federal St., Suite 604, in downtown Youngstown.

The move will necessitate the office’s being closed all day Feb. 29.

After 16 years, MCTA is leaving 9 W. Front St. because the building is being renovated for Youngstown Municipal Courts.

The new location will have more-modern space.

MCTA’s phone number, 330-747-5639, and fax number, 330-743-1741, will not change.

MCTA is the fiscal agent for the federal Workforce Innovation & Opportunities Act funds as well as operator of the OhioMeansJobs Centers of Mahoning and Columbiana counties. MCTA provides job counseling and assessment and funding for occupational classroom training and on-the-job training to residents of Mahoning and Columbiana counties.

Planet Fitness plans opening events

Planet Fitness on Mahoning Avenue passed the final zoning inspection and is open for business.

There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4 p.m. Monday for the grand opening. Guest Danni Allen, from “The Biggest Loser,” will talk with members about life after the show. There will be a 50-inch TV giveaway for black-card members, drawings for gift cards, free pizza and Plant Fitness gear.

Members have the opportunity to win a free workout with Danni Allen if they sign up before noon Monday.

JA Bowl-a-Thon set today at Wedgewood

Today, employees from the General Motors Lords-town Complex, UAW Local 1112, UAW Local 1714, Talmer bank, The Huntington National Bank and HBK Inc. will participate in the JA Bowl-a-thon – Junior Achievement of Mahoning Valley’s largest fundraiser of the year.

This year’s theme is “Bowling Through the Decades.”

The event will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. at Wedgewood Lanes, 1741 S. Raccoon Road.

JA of Mahoning Valley will provide 10,000 students in kindergarten-12th grade programs that teach them about financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship during the 2015-16 school year.

Easter Bunny photos at Boardman mall

BOARDMAN

The Easter bunny will be at Southern Park Mall, 7401 Market St., from March 4 through March 26 for photos.

The mall will have a “Breakfast with the Bunny” event at 9 a.m. March 12 in the food court.

Southern Park will have a “Sensitive Bunny” event for families that have children with special needs and need a subdued environment to participate in bunny photos. The event will take place from 9 to 10:30 a.m. March 13.

Pet Photo Night with the Easter bunny will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. March 20.
