ASSOCIATIONS

ALLIANCES

• Ohio Cultural Alliance will have a 6 p.m. March 7 dinner meeting at the Georgetown Banquet Center, 5946 South Ave., Boardman. Throughout the year, the organization will collaborate with the Mahoning Valley Association of Churches to explore the theme, “Faith in the Mahoning Valley.” This month’s speaker, Dr. Sudhakar Rao will present “Faith in the Valley: Hindu.” In addition to his medical practice, Rao is a priest at the Hindu Temple in Liberty. Cultural enrichment will be provided by a group of Indian dancers. Cost is $15 for members. Memberships from March to December are $25 per person. • Newcomers of Mahoning Valley will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Johnny’s Restaurant in Boardman. A Canfield policeman will discuss service-dog programs, and his dog will demonstrate its skills. Plans for a book club, needlework, girls’ day out for lunch and a movie and Roundtowners to explore different restaurants will be discussed. SOCIETIES

• Mahoning Valley Accounting Society will offer an IRS tax update program on Tuesday at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield. Registration begins at 8 a.m., and the seminar is scheduled from 8:30 to 10:15. Speaker will be LaTanya J. Bacon, IRS stakeholder liaison. Attendance is worth two hours tax credit toward CPE. • Alzheimer Network Family Support Group will meet at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Easter Seals Adult Day Care Center, 721 Boardman-Poland Road, Boardman, and 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Emmanuel Lutheran Education Building, 251 S.
