The Canfield library hosted its grand opening and dedication with a ribbon cutting and activities for all ages on Jan. 30. With hundreds of library goers in attendance, Library Board of Trustees President Dr. David Ritchie welcomed them and proceeded over the ribbon cutting.
The Flag Ceremony and Pledge of Allegiance were led by Cub Scout Pack 25 and Canfield Girl Scout Troop 80095. The Invocation was given by Pastor Larry Bowald of Canfield Presbyterian Church.
Library Executive Director Heidi M. Daniel spoke to the crowd and accepted a Proclamation from U.S. Congressman Bill Johnson from Field Representative Bianca Koup. State Senator Joe Schiavoni, State Representative John Boccieri, Canfield Mayor Bernie Kosar and Canfield Township Trustee Chair Brian Governor also spoke to the attendees. Library Development Director Deborah Liptak closed the ceremony with her own remarks.
Entertainment and activities were provided throughout the day and throughout the library. Stage Left Dance and Theater Arts Academy provided entertainment in the meeting room, followed by Canfield Middle School Pep Band.
