“Moonlight and Magnolias,SDRq directed by Marlene Menaldi Strollo, Victorian Players Theater, 702 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown. Auditions at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Needed are three men age 30 to 60 and one woman age 30 to 60. Auditionees will be asked to read from the script and may be asked to perform some physical comedy maneuvers. Performances will take place April 15-24.

“A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,SDRq directed by Dennis Henneman, Youngstown Playhouse, 600 Playhouse Lane. Auditions 4 p.m. Sunday and 6 p.m. Monday. All roles are open. Actors should bring a current photograph and be prepared to sing, dance and read from the script. Be prepared to sing 32 bars from a classic Broadway show with the appropriate sheet music. “The Time Machine,SDRq adapted by James Canacci and Dylan White, Youngstown Playhouse Youth Theatre, 600 Playhouse Lane. Auditions at 6 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. Actors will be asked to read from the script and should bring a current photograph. Performers age 8 to 18 are needed. “Don’t Hug Me,SDRq directed by Terri Gilbert and assisted by Jim Penn, Trumbull New Theatre, 5883 Youngstown-Warren Road, Niles. Auditions 1:30 to 3 p.m. Feb. 28. Three men and two women, age 35 and over, are needed for singing roles. Songs can be heard on the Samuel French website. Auditionees will read from the script and must be prepared to sing 16 bars of a song that shows vocal range. An accompanist will be provided; no a cappella. “The Strand Project,SDRq Selah Restaurant, 130 S. Bridge St., Struthers, auditions 7 p.m. March 1. Nineteen actors, men and women age 17 and older to each perform a dramatic monologue in this two-night writers’ and actors’ showcase. Rehearsals will be minimal and will begin in mid- to late April. Rehearsal times are flexible, based on availability. Plan to rehearse the entire production Tuesday through Thursday evenings from mid-May until opening. If you are unable to attend the March 1 audition, contact Mary Ruth Lynn at 330-554-2648. The project will take place 8 p.m. June 3 and 4 in the restaurant’s Cabaret Room.
