Poland Rotary’s 31st annual Chili Open Golf event set for March 5

SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR — Two golfers braved the snow and frigid weather to participate in last year’s Poland Rotary Chili Open Golf Classic. This year’s event is set for March 5 at Bedford Trails Golf Course, 713 Bedford Road, Coitsville.

Poland Rotary Club is hosting its 31st annual Chili Open Golf charity event on March 5 at the Bedford Trails Golf Course, 713 Bedford Road.
The schedule for the event will include registration from 8 to 9:30 a.m., tee-off at 10, entertainment from DJ Anthony and food and drinks from 10 to noon, chili-eating contest hosted by Jim Loboy of WYTV at 11:30, performance from the Chub Scouts Band from noon to 4 p.m., and raffle and 50-50 drawings at 2. Wendy’s chili, beer, pop and snacks, smoker brisket and turkey will be served, and punching bag and putting contests will be offered all day. Door prizes, closest-to-pin and a-hole-in-one prizes will also be awarded.
Food, beverages, prizes, 18 holes of golf and more are included in the $25 ticket price. Event sponsors are needed; cost will be $100 and sponsors earn signage at the event.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Boys & Girls Club, Down Syndrome Association of the Valley, Easter Seals Disability Services, Golden String Inc., Hospice of the Valley, Inspiring Minds, Mahoning County CASA/GAL, Making Kids Count, Mission of Love, Poland Interfaith Pantry, Potential Development, Second Harvest Food Bank, Sister Jerome’s Poor at the Ursuline Center, Sojourner House and Yellow Brick Place.
