7 days remain to enter Oscar contest
The deadline to enter The Vindicator’s Best of Film contest is Feb. 24. The top three contestants who predict the winners in the most categories in the Feb. 28 Oscar Awards will win gift certificates from Rulli’s.
The ballot has run several times in The Vindicator and will be included again this weekend.
Rundgren coming to Kent Stage

Todd Rundgren will return to Kent Stage, 175 E. Main St., for two shows, May 16 and 17, at 8 p.m. both nights.

Children’s carnival at Lutheran church
CORNERSBURG
Zion Lutheran Church, 3300 Canfield Road, will present its third annual Children’s Carnival on Sunday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. The event is open to the public.
Thirteen midway games will be available to play for 25 cents each, including bowling, plinko, sack races and an obstacle course.
Entertainment will include a clown, balloon animals and face painting, each for a quarter.
Food will be available with most items less than a dollar. At the end of their visit, each child’s efforts will be rewarded with a ticket-based prize table with trinkets and age-appropriate books.
YSU concert band, ensemble to play
YOUNGSTOWN
The Youngstown State University Concert Band and Percussion Ensemble will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave. Tickets are $6 at the door ($5 for senior citizens and students). Call 330-941-2307.
The Concert Band will perform Ron Nelson’s “Courtly Airs and Dances,” Derek Bourgeois’ Serenade, Op. 22, David Maslanka’s “Mother Earth” and Gustav Holst Second Suite in F for Military Band Op. 28, No. 2.
The ensemble’s program will include “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” with Nathan Negro on marimba; and “Slap Shift” with intricate Afro-Cuban rhythms on congas.
