UPDATE | Man killed on East Side is city's 2nd homicide this year

YOUNGSTOWN — The death of a man on the East Side about 3 p.m. today is the city’s second homicide of the year.

Police responding to a shooting call in the 100 block of Ayers Street found the man, in his early 20s, dead in the street from multiple gunshot wounds.

The Mahoning County Coroner’s office is also investigating and is expected to perform an autopsy today. Police said they would release the victim's name after meeting with the family.
