Girard man faces misdemeanor animal-cruelty charge


GIRARD — A city man faces a misdemeanor charge of animal cruelty after a resident sent police a video of the man appearing to hit a dog.

John Giordano, 51, entered a plea of not guilty at his arraignment Wednesday morning in Girard Municipal Court. A judge set his bond at $2,500.

He will next appear in court at 1:30 p.m. on April 27 for a pretrial hearing.
