Geidner, Marenkovic child abuse case sent to grand jury
STRUTHERS
A case involving the purported abuse of a 5-year-old girl has been bound over to a Mahoning County grand jury.
Lisa Marenkovic, 27, and Beau Geidner, 27, both of Struthers, appeared in municipal court Wednesday on felony charges of child endangering and obstructing justice.
Both agreed to waive their right to a preliminary hearing and have the case sent to the grand jury.
Struthers Municipal Judge James R. Lanzo continued their bonds of more than $100,000 each. They are in the Mahoning County jail.
Police searched the couple’s Fourth Street home last week on a warrant. School officials, who noticed bruises on the child’s body and her absences from school, alerted law enforcement to their concerns about the child’s well-being.
The girl, who police described as malnourished and dehydrated, was transported to Akron Children’s Hospital in Boardman.
