Boardman police, US marshals arrest bank-robbery suspect

BOARDMAN — Township police and members of the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force on Tuesday arrested a suspect wanted for allegedly robbing a township bank last week.

Craig Candiotti, 34, of Greenville, Pa., is charged with aggravated robbery for the Feb. 11 incident at Citizens Bank on Boardman-Poland Road. He is in the Mahoning County jail without bond, pending an appearance in Mahoning County Area Court here Thursday.

Candiotti allegedly stole $2,300 from the bank after passing a note to a bank teller that read, "I have a gun. Sound no alarms. Put the money in the bag and no one will get hurt."
