Man on probation for domestic violence charged with 2 more incidents

YOUNGSTOWN

A man on probation for a domestic-violence conviction in 2012 entered no-contest pleas Tuesday in municipal court to two more counts of domestic violence, including one that is three years old.

Franklin Lewis III, 38, entered the pleas to the two charges before Magistrate Anthony Sertick to a Nov. 13, 2013, domestic-violence incident and one on Jan. 26.

In both cases, the same woman was the victim.

Magistrate Sertick said he would find Lewis guilty in both cases and set sentencing for March 30 before Judge Elizabeth Kobly.

Besides the two no-contest pleas, Lewis also stipulated, or agreed that there is probable cause that he violated probation he was given for convictions in 2012 on charges of domestic violence and criminal damaging involving the same victim.
