Salem 63, Boardman 50

BOARDMAN

D.J. Pullie led Salem (13-7, 8-6) past Boardman by scoring 19 points. Pullie is now four points shy of 1,000 for his career. Jon Gerace added 15 points and Nick Rusyn added 10 points for the winning side. John Ryan and Gannon Murray put up 16 and 12 points, respectively, for Boardman (8-13).

Ursuline 77, Campbell 42

YOUNGSTOWN

Ten 3-pointers aided the Irish (15-6) in a blowout win over Campbell (1-21). Greg Parella and Armon Nasseri scored in double-figures with 23 and 17 points, respectively. Roy Rue had 12 points for Campbell while Brandon Liggins added 11.

Garfield 57, Bristol 45

GARRETTSVILLE

Alex Jones led Bristol (18-2) with 10 points while pulling down eight rebounds and dishing out five assists in the loss.

Howland 81, Hubbard 46

HOWLAND

Victoria Rappach tied her season-high for threes with seven as she scored 23 points in three quarters of play to lead Howland’s (17-5) blowout win. It was two shy of her career best, which she set in her sophomore season. Sara Price added 18 points, Cendyl Buckley had 12 points and Samarra Caffey tacked on 10 more for the winners. Hubbard (3-19) got 22 points from Marissa Grande in its season finale. No. 2-seed Howland will host No. 9-seed Salem in the sectional final on Thursday.

Southeast 67, Girard 49

RAVENNA

Danielle Norquest dropped 26 points on Girard while Riley Norquest added another 16 to end the Indians’ (13-9) season. Ali Ciminero led Girard with 13 points in defeat. No. 6-seed Southeast will travel to top-seed Lakeview on Thursday.

West Branch 68, Crestwood 27

BELOIT

West Branch (12-11) jumped out to a 44-13 halftime lead in the sectional semifinal behind Emma Rankin and Kayla Hovorka’s 12 points apiece. Sidney Kulla led Crestwood (8-15) with 8 points. No. 5-seed West Branch will play No. 3-seed Poland in a sectional final on Thursday.

South Range 61, Canfield 43

BEAVER TOWNSHIP

Maddie Durkin’s 20 points led the Raiders (20-2, 8-0) to a home win over the Cardinals. Morgan Czopar also added 19. Jill Baker paced Canfield with 12 points while Serena Sammarone chipped in with 10.

Leetonia 49, Campbell 31

CAMPBELL

Kristy Eckman’s 24 points led all scorers as Leetonia topped the Red Devils on the road. Selena Lopez and Alana Rodriguez each had 10 points for Campbell.

SWIMMING

CANTON

Boardman’s Aaron DunLany finished first in the 500 freestyle (4:55.92) while Callen Aulizia won the 100 freestyle (47.25) in the Division I sectional swimming meet.

The Spartans also won the 400 freestyle relay with a new school record of 3:16.59. Those swimmers were Kyle Kimerer, Ethan Schwendeman, Aaon DunLany and Callen Aulizia.

That same group finished second in the 200 freestyle relay (1:30.47).

Fitch’s Timmy Kubacki won the 200 individual medley with a time of 1:58.51.

Other second place finishes by Boardman included Kyle Kimerer in the 200 freestyle (1:47.60) and Corie Kuras in the 100 freestyle (55.53).
