Canton McKinley 89, Warren Harding 74

WARREN

Lepear Toles scored 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and TJ Lipkins added 24 points, including four 3-pointers for the Bulldogs. Canton McKinley led 39-33 at halftime, then outscored Harding 30-14 in the third quarter. Gabe Simpson led the Raiders (18-2) with 22 points and Shakem Johnson had 20. The Bulldogs limited Derek Culver to nine points and a team-high seven rebounds.

Lisbon 85, Beaver Local 55

LISBON

Avery Andric scored 28 points to give him 1,001 for his career. He’s the fourth Blue Devil in the Class of 2016 to surpass 1,000 — the others are Austin Rutecki, Josh Craig and Josh Liberati. Rutecki contributed 13 points, 10 rebounds, seven blocks and four assists for Lisbon (20-1). Liberati had 11 points and six assists. Craig scored eight points and made five steals while Trevor Reese had 11 rebounds, five blocks and five points. For Beaver Local, Chase Wilcox scored 20 points and Terry Adkins scored 11.

Girard 53, Edgewood 52

ASHTABULA

Anthony Backus scored a put-back basket with 11 seconds remaining for the game-winning points. Mark Standohar scored 17 points and made five assists to lead the Indians (12-9). Also scoring in double figures were Anthony Graziano with 16 and Mike Guyer with 10. Guyer also made seven rebounds. For Edgewood, Matt DiDonato scored 17 points and Marcus Ernst 16.

Austintown Fitch 66, Howland 47

AUSTINTOWN

Anthony Pangio scored 20 points, his partner-in-the paint Dom Difrancesco added 13 points and Brian Beany had 12 points as Fitch (14-6) swept its season series with Howland. Connor Tamarkin and Luciano Romeo each scored 12 points to lead the Tigers (7-11).

Michael Turner scored 16 points for the Golden Flashes (14-6). Also scoring in double figures were Eric Karasa with 12, Noah Bayus with 11 and Lucas Nasonti with 11. For the Bulldogs (4-16), T.J. Lynch’s 20 points included four 3-pointers. Jatise Garrison contributed 12 points and 12 rebounds. Tim Roberts had nine assists and seven points.

Brenden Candella led the Eagles (5-16) with 15 points and Nick Ferrara tacked on 12 points. Marc Kraml led the Warriors with a game-high 21 points.

Jacob Adams scored 20 points and had nine rebounds, Blake Payne added 16 points and Sam Hitchcock had 15 for the Falcons (16-3). Daniel Banks led Liberty with 20 points and Andre Bowers added 15.

Jaden Walton carried Newton Falls (15-6) with 32 points. Rahiem Jennings was the only Struthers (10-9) player in double figures with 11 points.

Jared Wilson led Columbiana with 20 points, including five shots from behind the arc. Burdette Baker contributed 16 points and 11 rebounds. Shayne Rhodes scored 21 points and Roman Ferry scored 11 points for Leetonia.

Tyler Barone led the Rockets with 12 rebounds, four steals, and 18 points and Jon Chiclowe tacked on 13 points. Lance DeZee led Western Reserve with 11 points and Jack Cappabianca and Cole DeZee each added 10 points.

Jake Clark led United with 31 points and Kaden Smith tacked on 15 points. Crestview’s McCallum and Mustake each scored 11 points, and Aaron Muntean added an additional 10 points.

Christian Adkins and Dominick Michael paced Southern with 19 and 16 points, respectively. Nathan Summers scored 29 for Heartland Christian (5-15).

MINERVA

With 0.5 seconds left in double overtime and his team down by one, Salem’s D.J. Pullie was fouled as he pulled up for a 3-pointer. He also received two technical attempts. Pullie made four of five foul shots for the Quakers (12-7, 8-6 Northeastern Buckeye Conference). Pullie led the Quakers with 17 points. Connor Wright led Minerva (4-18, 1-13) with 17 points.

SWIMMING AND DIVING

AKRON

At the University of Akron’s Ocasek Natatorium, four Mahoning Valley divers qualified for next week’s district meet. In boys competition, Dominic Mariano finished sixth with a score of 375.25. Canton McKinley’s Tyler Brezina won with a score of 432.1. The top 22 divers advance. For the girls, Canfield’s Carlie Oddo finished 11th with 317.3. Boardman’s Madi Rast wass 17th with 293.85 and Canfield’s Maggie Brucoli finished 26th. In Division II swimming, Canfield earned 332 points through event 164. Rocky River is second with 224. Poland is 11th with 80 points while Hubbard is 13th with 64. Canfield’s Alec Gaetano won the 200 freestyle (1:51.67) and was part of the winning 200 medley relay team with Cullen Brady, Matthew Bogen and Ben Brucoli (1:40.97). They also won the 200 freestyle relay (1:30.23). Gaetano was fifth in the 100 butterfly. Cullen was third in the 200 freestyle. Brucoli won the 100 freestyle (49.06) and was fourth in the 50 freestyle. Bogen won the 100 breaststroke (1:02.12). Canfield’s Jared Rothbauer was second in the 500 freestyle. For the girls, Poland is eighth with 148 points, Cardinal Mooney 12th with 38 and Springfield 13th with 36.
