SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR | Berlin Ellsworth Ruritan Club is sponsoring three Western Reserve High School sophomores to attend Leadership Mahoning Valley, a youth program for Mahoning and Trumbull county high school sophomores and juniors who have demonstrated leadership potential within their schools and communities. Each Wednesday for four months, LMV students learn about health care, social services, business opportunities and other challenges that local governments face while also practicing constructive leadership, responsible community participation and the development of networking skills. The three sponsored students, Abigail Sudano, Dominic Velasquez and Alexis Hughes, recently attended the Ruritan’s January meeting to thank members for the opportunity to participate in LMV. Sharon Velasquez, left, and her son Dominic joined Ruritan president Lee Fowler, WRHS principal Doug McGlynn along with Sudano with her mother, Jennifer Lalime, after the meeting. Hughes is not pictured.
