Cruze top-selling vehicle in the Valley in January

New and used vehicle sales in the Mahoning Valley dropped by 238 in January.
Total sales were 4,174, compared with 4,412 last year, according to data recently released by the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association.
The data are compiled from titles processed at county title departments by the final business day each month.
Sweeney Chevrolet of Boardman had the most new and used sales for the month with 275. Greenwood Chevrolet came in second with 224, and Sweeney Buick GMC of Boardman came in third with 168 sales.
New sales in the Valley were down by only three sales with 2,483 new vehicle sales in January 2016, while January 2015 had 2,486 sales.
Used sales were down by 216. A total of 1,638 used vehicles were sold in January 2015, compared with 1,854 in January 2014.
The Lordstown-built Chevrolet Cruze came out on top for new sales in January with 182 sales, compared with 114 the previous year. The Chevrolet Equinox came in second for sales with 153, and the Chevrolet Silverado came in third with 144 sales.
The top three used models in January were the Cruze with 70 sales; the Ford F-150 with 53 sales; and the Ford Escape with 52 sales.
The top three new makes in January were Chevrolet with 880 sales; Ford with 372 sales; and GMC with 143 sales.
