Man indicted for November domestic incident

A Mahoning County grand jury indicted a man who police said beat his girlfriend and tried to burn his house down the day before Thanksgiving only to set himself on fire.
Ronald Magby, 57, of Megan Circle, was indicted on charges of aggravated arson, kidnapping, attempted aggravated murder and domestic violence.
Reports said Magby was beating a woman Nov. 23 in the home who managed to call 911. Magby tried to set the home on fire but instead caught himself on fire. He then tried to drive away, still on fire, before officers had to use their electronic stun weapons on him. He was in the burn unit at Akron Children’s Hospital for several weeks before he was arraigned in municipal court.

Jerrell E. Shorter, 19, Willis Avenue, possession of heroin.
Jason R. Fonseca, 37, Roanoke Avenue, Austintown, theft.
Virginia Gutierrez, 36, Bronx, N.Y., theft, forgery and identity fraud.
Jacey Ann Casado, 21, Bronx, N.Y., theft, forgery and identity fraud.
Chauncey D. Chandler, 32, Burlington, N.C., burglary and resisting arrest.
Raymond Hammond, 30, Smithfield Street, possession of drugs.
Tyrell Hollis, 22, Curry Place, being a felon in possession of a firearm, improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, possession of heroin, possession of cocaine with forfeiture specifications and carrying concealed weapons.
