ATHLETIC GROUPS

Girard High School Athletic Boosters will meet at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the high school.

CLASSES

The Rayen School Class of 1959 will meet for its monthly luncheon at noon Wednesday at Stonebridge Grille & Tavern, 1497 Boardman-Canfield Road, Boardman. All classmates, spouses and guests are welcome. The group meets the third Wednesday of each month.

CLUBS

Diabetes Partnership of the Mahoning Valley will meet at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 22 at Stonebridge Grille and Tavern, 1497 Boardman-Canfield Road, Youngstown. The group will discuss the final stages of its scholarship program, and Dr. Theresa Marx Armile will discuss a new online nutrition and diabetes help site.

Friends of the Mahoning River will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Oak Hill Collaborative, 507 Oak Hill Ave. Youngstown. Parking is available at the rear of the building. Lauren Johnson, U.S. 422 Corridor Redevelopment Plan project manager, will discuss the 422 project as well as other successes and future endeavors. Plans will be discussed regarding the group’s 2016 RiverFest. Any who share in the club’s mission of advocating improving the quality of the Mahoning River are welcome. Friends of the Poland Library will meet March 1 at the library, 311 S. Main St. Refreshments will be served at 9:30 a.m., and a program and business meeting will follow at 10. Lynn Zocolo will share the story of Fellows Riverside Gardens. Hostesses are Reka Desai, Carol McCoy, Philomena Mazzarino and Sue Perry. Mahoning County Chapter of Ohio Genealogical Society will hold its computer interest group meeting from 6 to 6:45 p.m. Monday at St. Charles Church, 7325 Westview Drive, Boardman. World War II Heritage Society will welcome guest speaker Lt. Jeff Dreves during its Monday meeting at A La Carte Catering in Canfield. Dreves was shipped to Vietnam in November 1966, and his duties included search and destroy missions and night ambushes with his unit stationed near Camron Bay. Alzheimer Network Family Support Group will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Girard Free Library, 105 E. Alzheimer’s Association Caregiver Support Group will meet at 2 p.m. Monday at Antonine Sisters Adult Day Center, 2675 N. R-Weigh Weight Support Groups meet on Mondays at First Friends Church, 1028 Jennings Ave., Salem. Afternoon weigh-in is from 1 to 1:30 p.m., and the meeting will follow at 1:45.
