NEO Allstars will offer six-week open classes at its three locations to help cheerleaders prepare for school or Allstar teams. Focus of the classes will include jumps, cheers, stunting, dancing and tumbling. Cost will be $12 for one class or the complete program for $54.
Classes at Green, 3729 Boettler Oaks Drive, will be 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays and begin Feb. 17; Boardman, 8431 South Ave., will be 7 to 8 p.m. Thursdays and begin Feb. 18; and Champion, 240 Marshall Ave., Warren, will be 8 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays and start Feb. 17.

Trumbull County 4-H kickoff event
WARREN
Trumbull County 4-H advisory committee will host its second annual Trumbull County 4-H kickoff from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Trumbull Career and Technical Center, 528 Educational Highway NW. The introductory event to Ohio 4-H week from March 6 to 12 will feature displays from Trumbull County 4-H clubs, games, activities, door prizes and refreshments.
There are over 100 volunteer leaders working with nearly 550 4-H members in over 30 clubs throughout the county. For information on becoming a member or volunteer leader of 4-H, contact the Trumbull County Ohio State University Extension at 330-638-6783. Membership in 4-H is open to youth between 5 and 19 years old.
Bereavement series
HERMITAGE, PA.
A free community bereavement series is planned from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays at Diagnostic and Imaging Center, 2435 Garden Way. Participants may take brown-bag lunches.
Sessions scheduled are Feb. 17, the Rev. Jeff Noble, rector of Church of Notre Dame, on “Fear of Death”; Feb. 24, Nicole Carlin, religious educator, community speaker and member of First Presbyterian Church in Sharon, Pa., on “Fear of Living”; March 2, Bradley McGonigle, funeral director at J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home in Sharon, “Fear of Being Alone”; March 9, James Stevenson, funeral director at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home in Sharon, “Fear of Grief”; and March 16, the Rev. Stacie Pitts, teaching elder in the Presbyterian Church USA and chaplain and bereavement coordinator for Sharon Regional Health System Hospice and Palliative Care, “Fear of God.”
SRHS also sponsors a bereavement group, open to the community, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month at Diagnostic and Imaging Center. For information call 724-308-7322.
Southside academy seeks donations
YOUNGSTOWN
Southside Fine Arts Academy in Fairview Arts and Outreach Center, 4220 Youngstown-Poland Road, is seeking donations by Valley residents. Items and underwriting lessons are needed.
Items needed are boomwhackers (plastic tuned tubes that play scales, melodies and songs) for $75, rhythm sticks (set of 24) for $25 and diatonic step bells for scale progression for $35.
Ten lessons on an instrument are $100.
Sponsorship of lunches and snacks also are available. Lunches are $35 and snacks, 425. Lunches are needed for Saturday, Feb. 20 and 27 and March 5 and 12. Snacks are needed for Tuesday, Feb. 18, 23, 25 and March 1, 3, 8 and 10.
