Boardman bank robbery suspect remains at large
BOARDMAN — A man who robbed a township bank Thursday afternoon reportedly got away with $2,300 remains at large, according to a police report.
Police were sent to Citizens Bank, 955 Boardman-Poland Road, in reference to a robbery in progress.
Law-enforcement officials were unable to locate the suspect – described in a report as a tall, thin white male wearing a yellow jacket with black sleeves – at the time.
A bank employee reported the suspect had placed a red duffel bag on the counter and slipped her a note that read, "I have a gun. Sound no alarms. Put the money in the bag and no one will get hurt. No dye packs or sudden movements. You have 20 seconds now."
The suspect fled on foot. A witness reported seeing a man matching the suspect's description get into the passenger side of a gray Chevrolet Impala and speed away, according to the report.
