Capital University in Ohio names new president

COLUMBUS (AP) — Capital University has chosen an administrator from Stetson University in Florida as its new president.

Capital officials said this week that Elizabeth Paul was selected by its Board of Trustees to serve as the private university’s 16th president. Paul is currently executive vice president and provost at Stetson in central Florida.

Trustees at the university in Columbus voted Saturday to accept the recommendation of a presidential search committee. The committee made its recommendation after a national search that began last spring when Denvy Bowman announced he would retire as the school’s president at the end of his 10th year.

Paul will take office July 1. The university has more than 2,700 undergraduate students.
