Police probe 2 shootings on city's South Side
YOUNGSTOWN — Police are investigating two separate shootings Tuesday evening on the South Side.
About 8:45 p.m., police responding to a shooting at Gibson and East Dewey avenues avenues found a 20-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the thigh. He told police he was walking when the driver of a passing car fired several shots at him. He was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital for treatment.
Earlier, about 6:45 p.m., police responding to a call from gunfire sensors found a 23-year-old woman inside a car in the 3100 block of South Avenue that had three bullet holes in the driver's door.
Officers found several empty shell casings and two spent bullets. The woman was not injured.
