YOUNGSTOWN

Police arrested four people over the weekend on felony drug charges and cited three others for misdemeanor drug offenses.

Police arrested William Slade, 36, of East Dewey Avenue, on a felony charge of possession of drugs plus a robbery warrant after he was pulled over about 2:25 a.m. Saturday at Market Street and East Indianola Avenue after a car he was driving was stopped in the middle of the road, then drove away when police went to investigate.

Reports said Slade had two oxycodone pills in his pocket when he was searched. When he was arraigned in municipal court Monday before Judge Elizabeth Kobly, Assistant City Prosecutor Jeff Moliterno said Slade also had $3,300 cash on him. The money seized gave police more than $8,500 seized last week in drug arrests.

Judge Kobly set Slade’s bond at $10,000.

Arrested about 10 p.m. Friday on a felony charge of possession of crack cocaine was Eva Floyd, 55, of Youngstown, who was stopped at a Market Street parking lot for an improper turn. Reports said a records check found she has six open suspensions on her driver’s license. When she was searched, police found a rock of suspected crack cocaine and a crack pipe. Judge Kobly set her bond at $5,000.

About 8:40 p.m. Friday, police arrested Arthur Green, 67, of Youngstown, on a charge of possession of crack cocaine after he was stopped for walking in the street at Edwards and Chalmers avenues. Police reports said he threw a rock of suspected crack cocaine out of his pocket. Judge Kobly released Green on his own recognizance.

At 8:01 a.m. Friday, police arrested Angelo Viglio, 35, of Petersburg, on a charge of possession of crack cocaine after police answered a call about a suspicious couple in a car in the 100 block of East Chalmers. Reports said the car drove away when police arrived, but they caught it at Chicago Avenue and Market Street.

Reports said Viglio was a passenger, and she appeared to be shoving something under the seat. When she was taken out of the car, she had a hand in her coat pocket, and a crack pipe was found inside her pocket after she was searched, reports said. When the car was searched, a rock of suspected crack cocaine was found where Viglio was reaching with her hands. She also has a warrant from Liberty police and was not arraigned Monday because she was transferred to that jurisdiction, according to jail records.

Cited for possession of drugs about 8 p.m. Friday at Broadway and Ohio Avenue after 28 pills were found on him was Jacob Akers, 25, of Boardman; cited for possession of marijuana about 8 p.m. Saturday at Chicago Avenue and Market Street was David Lynch, 51, of Mansfield; and cited about 1:20 p.m. Saturday at Williamson and Gibson avenues was Timothy Beaver, 20, of Youngstown, for possession of marijuana. Reports said he also had a warrant from the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office and was turned over to them.
