West Branch looks for a schools superintendent

BELOIT

West Branch Local Schools announced plans to begin a search for the next superintendent of the school district. The position has been posted online, and applications will be accepted through Feb. 29.

Letters of interest and resumes should be sent to Scott Weingart, interim superintendent, West Branch Local Schools, 14277 Main St., Beloit 44691. The school board is expected to begin interviews soon, with an expected start date of Aug. 1 for the new superintendent .

Weingart served as superintendent of West Branch Local Schools for 11 years, from 2004 until his retirement in July 2015. Lou Ramunno preceded Weingart and served as superintendent at West Branch for nine years.

A new superintendent was hired last August, but he resigned after five months to take another job.

Candidates with experience as a superintendent are preferred for the position, but the process is open to anyone who holds the appropriate credentials. For questions regarding the position, school board office at 330-938-9324.
