Boardman police investigate car incidents
BOARDMAN — Township police responded to many vehicle-related crimes over the weekend, according to police reports.
Between Friday and Sunday, police handled more than a dozen cases of criminal damaging, criminal mischief, grand theft auto, theft from auto and vandalism involving parked vehicles.
An Afton Avenue resident reported Saturday that his vehicle was stolen from his driveway sometime since the previous night. The vehicle reportedly was left unlocked with the keys in a cup holder.
Another Afton Avenue resident reported over the weekend that someone stole items from their vehicle.
Two thefts from vehicles also were reported at the Lowe's parking lot and on Erie Street, and a Beechwood Drive resident reported that someone went through her vehicle.
Residents of Applewood Boulevard, Salinas Trail, Silver Fox Drive, Ridgefield Avenue and Green Bay Drive reported damage to vehicles, such as slashed tires, and smashed windshields, windows and mirrors.
Police also are investigating several incidents in which vehicles and houses were egged.
