Fashion and talent casting call is Sunday

A second annual casting call for the Youngstown City Kids Fashion and talent show will be 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Holiday Inn, 7410 South Ave.

There is a $10 registration fee for the casting call.

The show is set for May 15. Rich Lifestyle and Step It Up Rentals and Events are hosting.

Historical Society seeks new members

POLAND

The Poland Historical Society is hosting a 2016 membership drive.

Annual dues are $10 per person, and the society also accepts donations from individuals or groups the support its mission.

Dues and donations provide for educational programs about Poland’s history and maintenance of the Little Red Schoolhouse museum.

The society’s next meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. Feb. 16 at the schoolhouse, 4515 Center Road.

Cassie Nespor of the Melnick Medical Museum at Youngstown State University will provide a slide show presentation on Civil War medicine and medical advances from the war in a presentation at 7:30. Artifacts from the era, including an amputation kit, anesthesia equipment and lancets will be displayed.
