Carly Finlen and Eric Sofranko were united in marriage at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 26, 2015, in a ceremony officiated by the Rev. Terry Hazel at St. Michael Church. A reception to honor the couple followed at St. Mary’s Assumption Social Center in Youngstown.

The newlyweds are the children of Karen and Gary Finlen and Meg and Frank Sofranko, all of Austintown.

The bride’s sleeveless ball gown was embellished with Swarovski crystals and pearls and featured a sheer illusion neckline that continued to a V-shaped back.

Mackenzie Russell was maid of honor and bridesmaids were Meghan May, Janice Abram, Abby Grimm, Jenna Vallee and Brittany Layne. The attendants wore pewter-colored dresses.

Alex Sofranko performed duties of best man for his brother. Groomsmen included Tom DeToro, Bob Slepsky, David Dugan, Trey McKim and the bride’s brother, Justin Finlen.

The bride earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Walsh University. She is a registered nurse for Mercy Health in Boardman.

The groom earned a bachelor’s degree in civil and construction engineering from Youngstown State University. He is a project engineer for Kokosing Industrial Inc. in Westerville, Ohio.

The couple traveled to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, for their honeymoon, and have made their home in Boardman.
