Ohio couple plead not guilty to charges in children’s rapes

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (AP) — A prosecutor says a man and woman charged in the rapes of their three children have pleaded not guilty in a western Ohio court.

Clark County Assistant Prosecutor Amy Smith says the couple entered not-guilty pleas Thursday in Springfield to charges that included rape, gross sexual imposition, endangering children, domestic violence and intimidation of a victim.

The U.S. Marshals Service said Thursday that its Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team arrested the 28-year-old woman and 27-year-old man on Wednesday.

The woman was arrested in Springfield and her husband was arrested in Portsmouth, where authorities believed he fled to avoid arrest.

The suspects are not being names to protect the identities of their children.
