Lordstown's UAW Local 1714 reaches tentative agreement with GM


LORDSTOWN — Leaders from the United Auto Workers Local 1714 have reached a tentative agreement for the fabrication plant workers at the General Motors Assembly Plant here.

Union leaders announced the agreement on the Local 1714’s Facebook page.

“The Shop Committee and Chairperson Scott Brubaker are happy to announce that we have reached a tentative Local Agreement with GM Lordstown West Management,” the announcement reads. “It has been a time-consuming and sometimes difficult negotiation process consisting of marathon nights at the bargaining table. UAW Leadership is confident they have negotiated an agreement that our membership will appreciate.”

Local 1714 has about 1,400 members.

Union leadership from the UAW Local 1112, which represents the about 2,900 assembly plant workers in Lordstown, came to a tentative agreement on the local contract Jan. 29.
