Tri-Gold Prime Time Chapter of American Business Women Association will meet at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday at A La Cart Catering in Canfield. Note the change of meeting time. A buffet luncheon will be served at 1:45 p.m.; cost is $15. NAMI Mahoning Valley will host an evening family support group for individuals who have a family member dealing with mental illness from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Laurie Cathers, a parent family specialist from Help Hotline, will speak, and a support-oriented discussion will follow. The family group meets the second Tuesday of every month. An evening Connections group, a support group for individuals who deal with mental illness, are set to meet 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Connections meets the second and fourth Thursdays of the month. R-Weigh Weight Support Groups meet on Mondays at First Friends Church, 1028 Jennings Ave., Salem. Afternoon weigh-in is from 1 to 1:30 p.m., and the meeting will follow at 1:45. Evening weigh-ins are from 5 to 6 p.m. followed by the meeting at 6:15. The first meeting is free. Guests are welcome. The club is an all-volunteer, nonprofit group of women helping women to lose weight. All money paid in goes back to the members in incentives to lose weight. Salem Regional Medical Center Cancer Support Groups will be offered from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays in the Behavioral Medicine and Wellness Center, 2020 E. State St., Suite J. The Coping With Cancer group will offer support for cancer patients, and a Families Coping With Cancer group is designed for the families and caregivers of cancer patients. Each group will offer facilitated discussions with BMWC counselors and address topics like identifying emotions and needs, self-care, reactivating your life and coping with change.
