Theft: Police issued a summons to Denise Jerek, 49, of Wesley Avenue, Youngstown, on a theft charge. Police accused Jerek of taking $118.02 in merchandise from Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Domestic violence: Police arrested Benjamin Peters, 24, of Rosemont Avenue, on a charge of domestic violence at his home

Aggravated burglary: The victim’s brother broke into a window at an apartment in the 1000 block of Compass West.

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Keith Ratiff, 30, of North Dunlap Avenue, Youngstown, on a charge of possession of marijuana.

Theft: Jewelry was taken from a bedroom at a home in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Theft: Customers failed to pay for food at the Upstairs Lounge, 4450 Mahoning Ave.

Jan. 12

Disturbance: A large group of males was involved in a fight at Bill’s Place, 4771 Mahoning Ave. Police used pepper spray to break up the fight.

Breaking and entering: Computer files were stolen at DJL Accounting, 1570 state Route 46.

Warrant: Police arrested Carly Esposito, 21, of Compass West on a warrant for failure to appear on an assault charge.

Jan. 13

Identity theft: Personal information was used to open an account at a home in the 5000 block of South Saratoga Avenue.

Warrant: Police arrested Michael Sutton, 36, of West Rockwell Road, on a warrant for theft of $926.47 from Emilio’s Drive-Thru,1255 S. Raccoon Road.

Theft: A Universal Product Code was improperly used to obtain merchandise at Walmart.

Theft: Police arrested Ashley Brown, 22, of Cleveland Avenue, Ravenna on charges of theft and possession of criminal tools.

Theft: Police arrested Shane Fetty, 35, of state Route 225, Diamond, on a theft charge.

Jan. 14

Warrant: Police arrested Chastity Young, 42, of Radio Road, on a warrant for theft. She is accused of taking $74.71 in merchandise from Walmart.

Warrant: Police arrested Marquaysha Driver, 21, of Compass West on a warrant for theft. She is accused of taking merchandise from Walmart.

Warrant: Police arrested Jorell Gibbs, 35, Forest Hill Drive on a warrant for failure to appear and contempt of court on a warrant for petty theft and criminal mischief.

Theft: Cash, jewelry and pills were reported stolen at Phoenix House, 850 N. Meridian Road.

Jan. 15

Attempted vehicle theft: An attempt was made to steal a 1994 Chevrolet truck at Austintown Auto Sales, 5275 Mahoning Ave.

Warrant: Police arrested Benjamin Peters, 24, of Rosemont Avenue on a warrant for domestic violence.

Theft: A camera was taken from an auto parked at a home in the 6000 block of New Road.

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Alexis Hyde, 37, of Eastway Drive, Youngstown on charges of drug abuse of marijuana and possession of marijuana.

Jan. 16

Theft: A cellphone was stolen at Rulli Bros., 4331 Kirk Road.

Warrant: Police arrested Erik Carlson, 29, of Madrid Drive on a warrant for telecommunications harassment.

Disturbance: There were conflicting stories about a disturbance in the 1000 block of Compass West.

Jan. 17

Telecommunications harassment: A woman received calls from a male threatening to blow up her vehicle.

Warrant: Police arrested Rachel Gurganus, 32, of Broadway Avenue, Girard on warrants for failure to appear on drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia, and James Pesano, 30, also of Broadway, on warrants for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Attempted theft/threat: Police said nothing was taken from an auto parked at a home in the 6000 block of Stoney Ridge Drive, but a male was threatened by the suspect.

Recovered property: A black Batman wallet was recovered at Get-Go, 5163 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: $60 in cash was stolen from Walmart.

Criminal damaging: A 17-year-old is a suspect in damage at a home in the 200 block of North Yorkshire Avenue.

Jan. 18

Warrant: Police arrested Samantha Morris,27, of Burkey Road, and Chastity Young, 42, of East Radio Road, for theft of $74.71 in merchandise from Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Jan. 19

Theft: A heater was stolen from Power Tool & Supply, 3699 LeHarps Road.

Menacing: A female threatened another female in the apartments in the 1000 block of Compass West.

Weapons offense: A vehicle was shot and damaged at a home in the 4000 block of Burkey Road.

Warrant: Police arrested Johnathan Repid, 25, of Berlin Center on two warrants, one for failure to appear for pretrial on charges of theft and possessing criminal tools and another for failure to appear for arraignment for possession of criminal tools.

Jan. 20

Theft: A house for sale was placed on Craigslist in the 6000 block of Berry Blossom Drive without the homeowner’s knowledge or consent.

Theft: Police arrested Ricardo Wallace, 57, of Northview Boulevard, Youngstown, on a theft charge. Police accused him of talking $29.27 in merchandise from Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Police arrested Mark Caudill, 38, homeless, on a charge of possession of criminal tools and falsification. He was arrested at Kmart.

Jan. 21

Theft: Items were taken by a suspect at Walmart.

Violation of a protection order: A male suspect left flowers and cards at the victim’s door in the 4000 block of Deer Creek Court.

Warrant: Police arrested Curtis Gearhart, 31, of Pine Hollow Road, Lisbon, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on traffic and child support charges.

Recovered property: A Taurus 0.38 handgun was found in the lawn at Starbucks, 851 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Jan. 22

Warrant: Police arrested Tony Sciarra, 27, of Wedgewood Drive on a warrant for failure to appear on a traffic charge.

Warrant: Police arrested John Kish, 49, of Trumbull Ave., Girard, on a warrant for theft of miscellaneous parts and repairs totaling $1,528.92 from a 2013 Ford F-150 at Fred Martin Ford, 4701 Mahoning Ave.

Jan. 23

Criminal trespass: Police arrested Rex Johnson, 55, of Oakview Drive, Girard on a charge of criminal trespassing at Starbucks.

Telecommunications harassment: Phone calls and text messages were reported at a home in the 3000 block of Johnson Court.

Jan. 24

Attempted theft: An attempt to steal a Vindicator newspaper box was reported at a home in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Warrant: Police arrested David Blackwell, 24, of Pyatt Street, Youngstown, on a warrant for failure to appear on a traffic offense.

Criminal damaging: A windshield was smashed on a 2010 Toyota vehicle.

Theft: A license plate was stolen from an auto parked at a home in the 3000 block of Mahoning Avenue.

Telecommunications harassment: Unwanted text messages and emails were reported at a home in the 5000 block of Winthrop Drive.

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Thomas Blake, 50, of Milton-Newton Road, Newton Falls, on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
