The Mahoning Valley hit a record high temperature at 1:09 p.m. Wednesday for Feb. 3 at 60 degrees.
The old record was 55 degrees Feb. 3, 1991.
There were record temperatures throughout northern Ohio in Cleveland, Akron-Canton, Toledo and Mansfield, said Laurie Willard, a hydrometeorological technician with the National Weather Service in Cleveland.
The unseasonably high temperature is short-lived, however.
The high in the Mahoning Valley today is going to get only into the mid-30s with a chance of flurries, Willard said.
There are marginal increases in the high temperature for the rest of the week – 37 degrees Friday and 40 degrees Saturday – but nothing close to the 60 degrees we enjoyed Wednesday.
