St. Patrick Church will offer dinner and tour

YOUNGSTOWN

St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., will host a spaghetti dinner and church tour on Sunday.

Dinners will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the cost of $8 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under. Carryouts are available; containers will be provided. Guests who wear a favorite league shirt will receive a dollar off their meal when they dine in.

Church archivist Jack Doran will offer a church tour at 12:30 p.m., calling attention to the modified Gothic style details of the building and the church’s construction with stone and oak. St. Patrick Church will mark its 90th anniversary in June.

The church’s monthly Sauce and Songs event will resume in March. For information call the church office at 330-743-1109.

Learn Italian at Mount Carmel Church

YOUNGSTOWN

Beginner and intermediate Italian language classes will be offered from 6 to 8 p.m. each Thursday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 343 Via Mount Carmel Ave.

Mardi Gras wine taste is Feb. 20

To celebrate Mardi Gras, Legacy Dog Rescue will host Mardi Paws Wine Taste from 4 to 10 p.m. Feb. 20 at Lil Paws Winery, 17547 Mahoning Ave.

Admission is $10 for wine tasting, appetizers, desserts and classic Mardi Gras fare. There will be a prize for best dressed and a basket auction. Live music will start at 7 p.m.

Proceeds will help Legacy Dog Rescue, a local nonprofit group, save and rehabilitate dogs that have been abandoned, abused or neglected and place them into loving homes.

Angel’s Wings to perform at library

SALEM

Salem Public Library, 821 E. State St., will present a sampling of harp and flute music as the duo, Angel’s Wings, performs from 2 to 3 p.m. Feb. 21 in the Adult Reading Room.

Harpist Allison Miller has studied traditional Scottish harp at Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow. Flutist Connie Price is a graduate of the Youngstown State University Dana School of Music and has played in many musical venues, including musical theater. Their song list includes classical, popular and traditional Scottish, Welsh and Irish music.
