YOUNGSTOWN

The Mahoning County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Tri-County Placement Network and Ohio Means Jobs Trumbull County will have a “Reverse Job Fair” to assist those with disabilities obtain employment and provide employers with a qualified pool of potential candidates.

The jobs available are office/clerical work, janitorial, housekeeping, dishwasher, laundry, stock associate, customer service, dietary aide, retail, sales, busing and food preparation.

The fair will take place from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. Friday at ITT Technical Institute, 1030 Meridian Road. For information, contact Kim Budaker at 330-799-2763 .

Small fire at GM

LORDSTOWN

A small fire Wednesday at the General Motors Lords-town Assembly Plant is not expected to have a significant impact on production.

A contracted worker using a sawlike device to cut through pipe ignited a small fire that caused a lot of smoke. The incident took place in the old paint shop at the East Plant.

As a precaution, the plant was evacuated in the early afternoon. A security guard was treated for smoke inhalation, plant officials said.

Michaels acquires Lamrite West

IRVING, TEXAS

The Michaels Companies Inc. recently acquired Lamrite West Inc., an international wholesale and retail supplier of arts and crafts, for $150 million.

Lamrite West, parent company of Pat Catan’s, will maintain its team and facilities in Strongsville, Ohio, and will continue to operate as a distinct business within Michaels.

Michael Catanzarite, whose father founded the company in 1954, will continue to lead the team as chief executive officer of Lamrite West and will serve on Michaels executive committee.

Home Depot to hire more than 80,000

NEW YORK

Home Depot is on a hiring spree.

The nation’s largest home-improvement chain, based in Atlanta, said Wednesday it is hiring more than 80,000 workers nationwide for its busy spring season, the same level as in recent years. The retailer estimates that more than half of the temporary workers stay on for permanent employment.

Honda to recall 2.2M vehicles for air bags

DETROIT

Honda is recalling an additional 2.2 million Honda and Acura vehicles because the driver’s air-bag inflators made by Takata can explode and hurl shrapnel into the passenger compartment.

Affected models include some 2007 through 2011 Honda CR-Vs, 2005-2012 Acura RLs, 2007 to 2016 Acura RDXs including early production 2016 models, 2007 to 2014 Honda Ridgelines, 2009 to 2014 Honda Fits, 2009 to 2014 Acura TLs, 2010 to 2014 Honda FCX Claritys, 2010 to 2014 Honda Insights, 2010 to 2013 Acura ZDXs, 2011 to 2015 Honda CR-Zs and the 2013 to 2016 Acura ILX including early production 2016 vehicles.
