Boardman police investigating burglary

BOARDMAN — Township police are investigating a burglary at a Shadyside Drive home in which nearly $14,000 worth of property reportedly was stolen or damaged.

The victim reported to police Wednesday his home had been burglarized while he was away on vacation.

Someone apparently kicked out a window air-conditioning unit to gain entry, then stole televisions, a gaming system, 200 DVDs, "hand-painted ceramic Russian stacking dolls," tomahawks, knives, a crossbow, a safe, cash, jewelry, clothing, radios, a vase, and the victim's birth certificate and Social Security card.
