Art exhibits will accompany Playhouse shows

Staff report

YOUNGSTOWN

“Foul Play” isn’t the only thing making its premiere this weekend at the Youngstown Playhouse.

The first in a new series of art exhibits, dubbed Artists for Artists, will run concurrently with the play in the theater’s newly renovated community room, off the lobby.

Local artists and sculptors will display work on a revolving basis in conjunction with theatrical events in this new series.

First up will be a display of work by Matthew Batcho, Stephen Ifft, Anne Michelle McMaster and Vicki Wilfin Ricci. A free reception for the artists will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, as well as immediately after the “Foul Play” performance.

All pieces on display will be for sale. A

portion of all revenue will be donated to the Butler Institute of American Art’s restoration program.
