GM Lordstown fire not expected to make significant impact on production
LORDSTOWN — A small fire at the General Motors Lordstown Assembly Plant is not expected to have a significant impact on production.
A worker using a saw-like device to cut through pipe ignited a small fire that caused a lot of smoke. The incident took place today in the old paint shop at the East Plant where contractors were working.
As a precaution, the plant was evacuated in the early afternoon.
A security guard was treated for smoke inhalation, plant officials said.
