Warren officials seek to assure water users that all is well
WARREN — Warren's utilities director said city officials will be looking at additional types of notification to residents as a result of concerns being raised over elevated lead levels in two homes last summer.
Franco Lucarelli said the exposure to the readings can be used to better educate Warren residents, but the overall quality of the water is good.
He said the city has taken proactive steps in the past to ensure good water quality and will continue to do so, even beyond what the regulation require.
He, Mayor Doug Franklin and a city chemist spoke at a press conference today at City Hall which seemed geared toward responding to The Vindicator's Sunday story about elevated lead reading on the city's East Side.
While Franklin spoke today, he declined Monday to respond to a Vindicator reporter seeking his comments.
