YSU ranks among most affordable online colleges

YOUNGSTOWN — Affordable Colleges Online has included Youngstown State University on its national list of the Top 50 Most Affordable Online Colleges for 2016.

YSU is ranked 17th on the list and is the only university from Ohio that made the rankings.

“For maximum student benefit, online schools must maintain a balance between cost and academics,” Affordable Colleges Online says on its website. “Though all schools may try, not all will succeed, which can have a direct effect on a student’s pocketbook. These schools have demonstrated their ability to bring academic excellence to online students with a more manageable price tag.”

The rankings are based on cost-to-quality criteria and metrics that compare qualitative components of colleges with similar costs, against the tuition of colleges with similar quality.
